Request For Partner Assistance
Request For Partner Assistance
Click here to view requests that have been submittedOne of the most valuable tools available to Worldcom partners, the Request for Partner Assistance is frequently used, and sometimes mis-used.
Partners may feel free to ask one another for information related to new business development, specific new business pitches, information to enhance management of the practice, and on occasion, to respond to online surveys or web site promotions for clients. Some times requests are only to be answered by the firm's Worldcom contact. Others, it's appropriate to forward the request to others on your staff.
Please reply to requests for assistance within 24 hours. If that is not sufficient time to fulfill the request, just say you are working on it and will reply fully by the deadline.
If you do not have anything to offer, there is no need to reply.
Partners do not expect to pay for information that can be supplied off-the-shelf, or that takes less than a half hour to reply to the request. Beyond a half hour or when asking for proprietary information, such as media contact information, partners may ask to be paid a reasonable cost. If the requesting partner is being paid by the client to get the information, partners may expect to be paid for it.
How to use the online request form:
- Please ensure this is a question that can be answered in less than half an hour.
- Carefully select the partners you want to send the inquiry to.
- Use it sparingly, but don't hesitate to use it when you need it.
- Fill out the form as fully as possible. If you can't name the client, indicate the industry involved.
- Write your request as clearly as possible, avoiding English jargon and clichés based in your culture that may not be understood by those for whom English is a second language.
- Always remember to say thank you when a partner sends you the information you requested. And if it is for a new business pitch remember to close the loop during the process, and when it is finished, to let those who helped you know the results.
Remember - what goes around comes around. Helping someone today will make you a trusted partner who others are willing to help when needed.
When not to use the online request form:
- Don't ask for free information you would expect someone to pay you for.
- When you have a tight timeline, remember that you are dealing with different time zones around the world, and when you send out an urgent request, partners in other time zones may already be gone for the weekend, may be out on a holiday you don't know about, may be traveling or on vacation, or out of the office on business for several days at a time.
- Don't ask partners to request information from their clients.
- Don't ask partners for something related to your personal and family life, such as voting on an online site or filling out an online survey. These kinds of requests are best handled in a personal email only to those who are your personal Worldcom friends.
